**** THE PREVIOUS DILEMMA! ****

Dr Jekyl just built a snowman outside 20 minutes ago in 29 degree weather, but when he went to show Mr. Hyde the wonderful creation he had made 10 minutes later, it was melted into nothing but a puddle of water! It is also now noted to be only 25 degrees outside!

WHY DID DR. JEKYLS' SNOWMAN MELT....????

**********************

This problem solver drew hundreds of email from readers, many of which (lots of adults! BTW) were WITHOUT an answer, but asking...just WHY did the snowman melt? The ANSWER is a simple one. The snowman melted because it was HOTTER THAN HELL outside (for the wintertime, anyway) when the Idiot Savant, Dr. Jekyl, overzealously decided to build his creation. The temperature of 29 degrees in question here is in the CELSIUS, or metric scale! Used worldwide, the celsius scale puts the freezing point-of water, that is-at ZERO. This is equal to 32 degrees on the Fahrenheit scale, and therefore 29 degrees celsius corresponds to approximately 86 degrees Fahrenheit!

A hearty CONGRATULATIONS to those few of you who figured it out! And a NICE TRY for those who gave it their best shot anyway!

**** THE NEW DILEMMA?!!? ****

Poor Mr. Hyde had recently found himself captive of the evil Minister-Sinister! An angry old man, ever jealous and spiteful of Dr. Jekyl, Mr. Hyde and all of their brite young IQuestion Solvers! Certainly NO preacher by any stretch of the imagination, Minister-Sinister had vowed NOT to let Mr. Hyde free until he told him the answer to the 'Snowman problem!' Knowing that the rotten Minister would use such VITAL information in an attempt to CONTROL the Universe, Mr. Hyde refused! Devoid of food from his captor, Mr. Hyde sat in the mansion's music room containing nothing at all EXCEPT for a piano and a calender on the wall to mark the endless days! There are NO windows, and NO hidden trap doors or any other exits besides an iron barred door with a heavy steel padlock. Also, there are NO keys in site or within reach. And yet, the ever resourceful Hyde emerged unscathed one day while Minister-Sinister was not home, this after a full MONTH of horrific entrapment!

HOW DID MR. HYDE ESCAPE? HOW DID HE SURVIVE STARVATION?
