Dr Jekyl just built a snowman outside 20 minutes ago in 29 degree weather, but when he went to show Mr. Hyde the wonderful creation he had made 10 minutes later, it was melted into nothing but a puddle of water! It is also now noted to be only 25 degrees outside!

This problem solver drew hundreds of email from readers, many of which (lots of adults! BTW) were WITHOUT an answer, but asking...just WHY did the snowman melt? The ANSWER is a simple one. The snowman melted because it was HOTTER THAN HELL outside (for the wintertime, anyway) when the Idiot Savant, Dr. Jekyl, overzealously decided to build his creation. The temperature of 29 degrees in question here is in the CELSIUS, or metric scale! Used worldwide, the celsius scale puts the freezing point-of water, that is-at ZERO. This is equal to 32 degrees on the Fahrenheit scale, and therefore 29 degrees celsius corresponds to approximately 86 degrees Fahrenheit!
